The Art of Communications & Writing Skills for PR, Media & Corporate Communications Managers
Good writing is the foundation of effective communications, especially in materials intended for the media. To attract the attention of a reporter or editor, and to convey desired information and messages, written materials must be informative, thought-provoking and concise.
This two-day workshop combines theory and hands-on practice to help participants to improve their own writing, to edit other people's writing, and to evaluate the quality of other written materials produced by - or for - their own organizations.
The emphasis is on writing materials intended specifically for distribution to the media, including news releases, statements, invitation to news conference or other events, prepared remarks and speeches, backgrounders, e-mails, letters to the editor and opinion columns. The program also will cover effective Web-based communications, including the newest modes: Facebook, Twitter, RSS feeds, videos, blogs and other formats.
This workshop is led by a former award-winning US journalist who has provided senior-level public relations services in many countries in Asia. The program is sure to improve the skills of communications-oriented employees and executives in corporate, NGO and government environments.
